Circa 1900. 3-story Queen Anne style home.
Judge John Tidwell Allen (1852_?) and Ellen E. Allen built the home north of downtown Nashville just south of East Trinity Lane. The dded notes that Ellen was considered insane. Judge Allen received his law license in 1875. When he lived in Pulaski , TN he not only served as mayor but also served on the board of Martin College for a number of years. In 1899, he joined the firm of Washington, Allen & Rains.
About six years later, in 1905, he sold the home and many lots surrounding it. D. B. Read purchased the house lot.
Five years later, in 1910, Tony Sudekum and Nettie Sudekum purchased the home and a total of ten lots in the newly developing Trinity Heights subdivision. The Sudekums started Crescent Amusement Co. and owned Union Ice Cream Co., an auto dealership and several other businesses. Then the house changed owners several times in the nest few years. The Sudekum family moved to Harding Rd. and built Ridgefield.
In the 1940s, the home was used as a sanitarium and later a rest home for the aged.
Then in the 1960s/70s, a Mrs Carter was the owner and used the place as a home for the handicapped.
In 2015, Cindy L. Lantrip owned the historic home.
