Circa 1830 / rebuilt in 1859/ expanded in 1880. 2-story frame home

GranDale Manor

The original owners are unknown currently and much of its history is very genericd. In the 1860s, the building was used by both sides as a hospital

In 1946, Perry Dale Sr .(1891-1981) and Mary Alberta Grandstaff Dale (1904-1985) became owners and named it reflecting their families. They wed in 1924. Dale owned and ran Dale's Fine Foods. By 1973, Dale sold the home and his business Dale Foods canning (now Cannery Row) to his sons Perry Dale, Jr. and J. Granstaff Dale. The family business expanded with Dale's Fine Foods, commercial and residential real estate and investments and operating the Cannery as an entertainment complex (Cannery Row). The family also moved from the family's original plant on 112 Second Ave. North to the Fletcher Wilson Coffee Company building on Palmer Place which was named The Cannery. Dale Jr. was married to Donna Katherine Lampley Dale (1940-2021). Grandstaff was married to Anne Robinson Dale.

They held the home for a decade until 1983 when they sold it.

By 1974, Nashboro Village was developing in southeast Nashville around the Nashboro Golf Club which opened in 1975. GranDale was saved and used for office space.

Renovated GranDale Manor

A couple decades later, in 1997, the property was moved for protection from Murfreesobor Rd. o near the main road of Nashboro BL. GranDale was vacant for much of the 2000ss. In 2011, the Waynick family purchased the structure, and the building was wonderfully renovated. The David J. Waynick law firm is on the second floor. There are 8 acres surrounding the building.

In 2024, GranDale served as a Law Office and an event venue.

The Dale family is remembered with the Dalewood community in south Inglewood named from their family farm, GranDale Manor, Cannery Row.
