John M. Fleming (1818-1888) and Eliza Mosley Fleming (1820-1860) were from South Carolina. The plantation originally had 380 acres near the Nonconnah Creek Bottom. The Fleming Home is one of the last surviving agricultural farms in the area.

Other Mosley family settled in Marshall Co., MS; in Memphis; and in Madison Co., AL. The Flemings lived next to her brother, Tully Emperor Mosley. They were already a wealthy clan. Fleming was the Ruling Elder of his Salem Presbyterian Church (now Colliersville Presbyterian Church) from 1850-1888.

Their son, Samuel T. Fleming (1844-1929) inherited the home. He leased the place to the Duke family. They purchased it in 1924. The Dukes used sharecroppers until the 1960s. In 1990, Preston and Emily Duke (onsite), Mrs Paul Duke and Betty Duke Dickert owned the property. NR 1990
