Col. William Platt Robertson (1838-1917) He came to Jackson from Kentucky in 1866 and started a dry goods business with partner John T. Botts with two stores. The home was near the current Jackson-Madison County Library on E. College St.
In 1867, he married Louanna Noble Harris Robertson (1848-1899)of Jackson in 1867. Louanna's parents were George and Eliza Ann Harris and one of the earliest settler families in Jackson. The widower had been married to Sallie Bethel Robertson (?-1864). He was president of the board of public schools of Jackson for 15 years, a trustee of the Southwestern Baptist University of Jackson, and a member of the city council.Â
The home was torn down in the 1930s for a parking lot.
